General Description:

Coordinates and administers all requests for reserved residential parking for People with Disabilities in accordance with Federal, State and City laws, rules and regulations. 

Principal Duties:

  • On-street investigation
  • Prepare work orders
  • Responsible for maintaining approved application filing
  • On-street investigation checklist to prepare for decision on whether to deny or approve PWD zones
  • Coordinates assignments with the PWD Coordinator
  • On-street investigation and maintenance of existing PWD zones
  • Responds to inquiries from residents and elected officials regarding application process, status of already submitted applications, enforcement of PWD zone restrictions and procedures for removing existing PWD zones
  • Responsible for removal of existing zones that are no longer active
  • Enter data into PWD and Parking Management applications
  • Responsible for ordering signage for each residential zone containing applicant's information.
  • Creating permits for each applicant using Duncan's AP system

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate verbally and written effectively
  • Ability to research information both efficiently and confidentially
  • Ability to function independently on assignments
  • Basic computer knowledge

Minimum Acceptable Training, Experience, and Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License 

Working Hours:  Monday through Friday during normal business hours and as required

Selection Process:

45% - Assessment Test, (Computerized)

35% - Oral Interview,

10% - Attendance,

10% - Latest Annual Performance Evaluation

 

APPLICANTS WHO HAVE AT LEAST TEN (10) YEARS OF SERVICE WILL HAVE FOUR (4) POINTS ADDED TO THEIR TOTAL SCORE. APPLICANTS WHO ACHIEVE A COMBINED SCORE OF 36 POINTS FROM THE ASSESSMENT TEST, EMPLOYEE EVALUATION, AND ATTENDANCE, BASED ON THE WEIGHT EACH CATEGORY IS GIVEN, WILL BE INVITED TO THE ORAL INTERVIEW PHASE OF THE PROCESS. ONLY THOSE APPLICANTS WITH A COMBINED TOTAL SCORE OF 70 WILL BE PLACED ON THE ELIGIBILITY LIST.
