POSITION SUMMARY:

WC Smith has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Community Manager to join the team at Archer Park Apartments, located in Washington DC! The Assistant Community Manager will be expected to have significant interaction with residents, including maintaining a high level of customer service, taking ownership of all aspects of property management, and have excellent communication skills

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide a high level of customer service to residents
Manage the leasing of the property
Cultivate strong relationships with all residents
Quickly and effectively resolve resident concerns
Contribute to the retention of residents within the property
Oversee unit turnovers in conjunction with the maintenance team
Partner with the maintenance team to ensure resident satisfaction
Comply with tax credit policies and procedures established by the corporate Tax Credit Office
Determine LIHTC eligibility of all applicants in accordance with program guidelines
Process original, initial, interim, and transfer certifications and the yearly re-certifications of residents
Maintain LIHTC files in accordance with program and WC Smith requirements
Assisting with other initiatives as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

One year's experience as an Assistant Community Manager at a tax credit property, or a minimum of three years' experience as a leasing consultant in tax credit
Prior experience in a tax credit property require.
Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) or Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) is a plus.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
High level of customer service experience.
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Understanding of Federal Fair Housing laws, as well as local regulations
Previous experience with Yardi is required
Microsoft Office skills such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Professional demeanor and presentation
