ecube - Aircraft Maintenance Technician (Part 145 MRO)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Summary:

Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMT) working in a Part 145 repair station are responsible for thoroughly inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing aircraft, components and systems to ensure they meet FAA regulations and airworthiness standards. AMTs perform detailed checks during maintenance and repair processes, identifying defects to ensure safety of flight. AMTs adhere to the repair station's RSM/QCM, relevant maintenance documentation standards and Federal Regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all work is accomplished in accordance with companies RSQCM, manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations.
  • Performs routine inspection and repair of complex aircraft systems to include but not limited to; powerplants (engines & APU), landing gear, flight controls, avionics systems, hydraulics systems, fuel systems and ECS systems.
  • AMTs troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and structural problems on aircraft utilizing specialized tools and equipment.
  • Interprets technical manuals, blueprints, schematic diagrams, written and verbal information in the troubleshooting and repair of aircraft.
  • Responsible to accurately document all maintenance actions in work order system or aircraft logbooks as required.
  • AMTs prioritize the safe operation of aircraft by ensuring that all systems and components are in proper and safe working condition.
  • Provide on the job training instructions and information on job procedures, safety and good work practices to fellow aircraft mechanics.
  • Keeps the Maintenance Manager advised of problems that could result in work delays.
  • Responsible for compliance with all applicable federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Good working knowledge of applicable FAR’s under Part 145 MRO operations.
  • Experienced with aviation maintenance best practices and industry standards.
  • A strong understanding of aircraft system, mechanics, and repair procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using computer software for aircraft maintenance documentation.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of heavy aircraft maintenance experience or A&P license
  • A&P license is preferred

Language: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Working Conditions:

The environmental characteristic for this position is an aircraft hangar, warehouse setting and outdoors. Candidates should be able to adapt to the environments listed. There may be momentary exposure to high noises, exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents, and Personal Protection Equipment may be required for certain tasks. This position must be able to work comfortably outdoors and may be exposed to heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
