Position Summary 

The NDT Inspector II is responsible for performing and interpreting Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections on aircraft components and structures utilizing Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), and Visual Inspection methods. This position requires Level II certification and qualification in accordance with NAS 410 and the Company's Written Practice. The NDT Inspector II independently evaluates inspection results, determines product acceptability, documents findings, and ensures compliance with FAA Part 145 Repair Station requirements, customer specifications, OEM manuals, and applicable industry standards. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

• Perform nondestructive inspections of aircraft components, assemblies, and structures using: 

• • Eddy Current Testing (ET) 
• • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) 
• • Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (PT) 
• • Visual Inspection (VT) 

• Set up, calibrate, standardize, and operate NDT inspection equipment. 
• Interpret test results and evaluate indications for compliance with applicable acceptance and rejection criteria. 
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, OEM specifications, repair instructions, and quality procedures. 
• Perform inspections in accordance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, NAS 410, and company procedures. 
• Prepare, review, and maintain inspection records, reports, and certification documentation. 
• Ensure traceability and proper documentation of all inspection activities. 
• Verify the serviceability and calibration status of NDT equipment. 
• Assist with the development, validation, and continuous improvement of NDT techniques and processes. 
• Participate in RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) and quality improvement initiatives. 
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to trainees and Level I personnel as assigned. 
• Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, including proper use of PPE. 
• Support audits conducted by customers, regulatory agencies, and quality management representatives. 
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. 

Required Qualifications 

• High School Diploma or GED. 
• Current or previous Level II certification/qualification in: 

• • Eddy Current Testing (ET) 
  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) 
  • Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (PT) 

• Certification must meet NAS 410 requirements and the Company's approved Written Practice. 
• Ability to obtain and maintain company certification as required. 
• Working knowledge of FAA Part 145 Repair Station regulations and aerospace quality requirements. 
• Ability to independently perform, interpret, evaluate, and document NDT inspections. 
• Knowledge of NDT acceptance criteria and aerospace inspection standards. 
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and specifications. 
• Proficiency using NDT inspection equipment, software, and reporting systems. 
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills. 

Desired Experience 

Candidates should possess documented training and experience that meet or exceed NAS 410 Level II requirements, including: 

• Eddy Current Testing (ET) Level II: 

40 hours formal training 

1,200 hours documented experience 

• Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Level II: 

• • 16 hours formal training 
  • 400 hours documented experience 

• Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (PT) Level II: 

• • 16 hours formal training 
  • 270 hours documented experience 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Previous experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station, MRO, airline, aerospace manufacturing, or component overhaul environment. 
• Experience inspecting turbine engine components, accessories, landing gear components, or structural aircraft parts. 
• Familiarity with customer-specific aerospace requirements and OEM manuals. 
• Knowledge of additional NDT methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiography (RT), or Computed Radiography (CR). 
• Experience with automated or advanced NDT systems. 
• ASNT Level III guidance or mentorship exposure. 

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 60 pounds. 
• Ability to work in production, laboratory, and shop environments. 
• Ability to distinguish colors and pass annual vision examinations required by NAS 410 and company certification requirements. 
• Ability to use inspection equipment requiring fine motor skills and attention to detail.
