VP, Sales - Americas

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Summary:
The Sales VP manages, directs, and coordinates overall business development and sales activities for an assigned region to conform with established goals and objectives. Achieves objectives by developing and maintaining a competent team that is engaged in daily sales, leasing, purchasing as well as employee development and customer relations. Initiates and supports continuous improvement of sales operational processes and support activities. Interacts with all levels of management within the Company, at customer and vendor companies, and outside agencies. Supports all safety, environmental, and company policies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Create and implement sales/performance goals and objectives for company's sales representatives, and monitors performance on a continual basis.
• Provides leadership to the day-to-day operations of the sales department, while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals.
• Analyze prior sales trends to develop monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Review budgets to determine the funds necessary to achieve those goals and prepare reports to request an increase in funding.
• Introduces new sales programs to the sales workforce and work with the marketing department to determine a sales strategy for new products.
• Works closely with other Directors and VPs of Sales/Marketing to develop, establish, and implement strategies and programs.
• Receives recognition for profits and takes responsibility for negative performances.
• Finds ways to increase a company’s revenue through market research using the information to create programs that increase sales and maximize profits.
• Research territories in their assigned region where Unical does not have a presence, to gauge demand and the possibility of expanding into new territories.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• 10 years’ experience in leading a sales team in the aviation industry.
• Previous experience in senior sales role with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present strategy and results to staff members at every level of the organization.
• Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective clients.
• Demonstrated skill in negotiating and closing critical sales contracts.
• Must have the ability to motivate a team of sales representatives to whom they must communicate sales expectations and strategy.
• Must have good analytical skills to evaluate and interpret market research data, information that is used to develop new programs.
• Need strong presentation skills and the ability to negotiate under intense pressure.
• Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Highly organized with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Proven ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Able to thrive in a deadline-driven, rapidly changing environment.
• Able to work extended hours when necessary to meet critical deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or related field.
• Quantum preferred but not required.
Travel:
• Must be able to travel 30% of the time.
Language:
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Physical Demands:
• Work Environment: Office setting but with some traveling required.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on occasions.
• Carrying, Walking, Pushing, Climbing, Reaching.
Working Conditions:
• This job operates in an administrative office setting.
• This role routinely uses standards office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
