Engine Material Repair Lead

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Summary: 

 The Engine Repair Lead is responsible for providing organization and operational support on Repair Order’s daily activities for Engine Department. This position also ensures the quality and consistency of product and service delivery.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Sources for repair jobs by researching repair capabilities, inquiring from ILS/OneAero MRO for availability and bench test/repair/overhaul/capability
  • Responsible for customer Request for Quotes and quotes from repair shops into Unical’s web portal RO module.
  • Working directly with engine repair shops for all repair services.
  • Manage repair shops to ensure we receive repair quotes timely.
  • Approves repair jobs; processes Repair Orders working with Repair Team through FINAL approval
  • Provides mentoring and training for newer members of the team and acts as escalation point for any technical decisions/or liase with PL for technical dispositions.
  • Focus on all material linked to sales and provides feedback to sales team on open orders.
  • Monitors and analyzes repair turnaround time to ensure we are receiving the expected service from the repair shop for on-time delivery; and follows up on open issues, requests status, ETAs and discrepancies.
  • Manages dispatch of all repairs with warehouse personnel and updates shipping information on invoices to coordinate with sales personnel
  • Updates Master Airways Bills for warehouse transfers
  • Reviews and evaluates shop quotes and utilizes tools to maximize cost savings including lowering evaluation fees
  • Identifies high demand parts for potential inventory
  • Sources for repair items needing replacements; and analyzes marketplace for good quality inventory that would be a profitable investment through speculative stock purchases
  • Works with vendors, Manufacturer or OEM pricing and availability
  • May participate in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows
  • May perform other related duties as assigned or requested by Senior Management
  • Managing of DROP SHIPMENT process

 Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in aviation repairs and purchasing or customer service functions
  • Must have strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of technical requirements on tear down evaluations
  • Time Management - ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and independently
  • Customer focus; ability to build relationships
  • Good general computer skills with MS Office applications including Outlook and Word, inventory management systems
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Able to multitask and perform work outside job scope.
  • Ability to work well with details under pressure.

  • Sit for long periods of time at a computer terminal and in meetings.
  • Stand, walk and reach to be able to retrieve objects.

  • Speak and hear clearly.
  • Use close vision, distance vision & color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Infrequent light physical effort required.
  • Infrequent travel to tradeshows.
  • Infrequent light lifting of office supplies and materials

 

Working Conditions:

  • Will have to handle multiple projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of other departments or team members
  • Will need excellent organizational and time management skills
