Engineer 1 (Part 145)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Summary:
Part of the 145 Repair Shop, the Engineer I will be responsible for planning, documenting, designing, developing, and implementing procedures and/or processes required to inspect, assemble, test, and repair aircraft articles. This position will play a crucial role in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to our components. This role involves a combination of technical expertise, customer service, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Advise staff on the development of design solutions, technical drawings, manufacturing processes and design changes.
• Develop technical solutions and guidance through Engineering Authorizations for aircraft issues that surpass published structural damage limits, including both sheet metal and composite repairs. This frequently involves conducting structural analysis.
• Provide Engineering Support to evaluate and recommend repair versus replacement options to reduce financial impact.
• Issue work deviation authorizations and providing interpretations of service documents and Engineering Orders
• Review and interpret blueprints and approved tech data (ex. CMM, SRM, SOPM, SPM) to plan, evaluate, develop, and generate instructions and other process documentation to meet specifications.
• Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding capabilities, quality issues, scheduling, and other considerations to facilitate repair requirements.
• Provide guidance to the engineering department on the continuous improvement effort to enhance quality, reliability, and/or cost-effectiveness.
• Additional projects as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Engineering degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) or other related field from an accredited college required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering field related to research and development.
• Expertise in the understanding of commercial or military aircraft repair practices and standards applicable to area of specialty.
• U.S. person or lawful permanent resident (green card holder) preferred due to ITAR regulations.
• Experience with SolidWorks, or AutoCAD design software and MS Office products required.
• Proven problem-solving skills within a diverse workforce and team environment.
• Willingness to perform “hands-on” work in a dynamic work environment.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate logical reasoning, decision making, and attention to detail required.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in engineering is preferred.

Location:
• Glendale, AZ – 100% Onsite, No Remote Work Available.

Travel:
• Up to 10% Travel may be required.

Language:
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Physical Demands:
• Work Environment: 75% office – 25% floor
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Carrying, Walking, Pushing, Climbing, Reaching

Working Conditions:
• Fully Air-Conditioned Shop!
• Work Environment: 90% office.
• 10% shop floor (visit repair stations, teardown facilities
