Project Manager - Powerplant Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Summary:

The Project Manager - Powerplant Engineer is a pivotal figure within Unical Engines, it offers essential support for our serviceable engine program on a daily basis. This position takes charge of upholding valuation models, steering the repair process, and guaranteeing the smooth functioning of engine contracts. This role demands an extensive comprehension of the aviation engine serviceable markets and programs coupled with the technical acumen to devise engine work scopes that enhance both the value and the longevity of engine assets through a strategic approach.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update valuation models for the serviceable engine program.
  • Develop and implement an RFP process for shop selection to optimize repair and maintenance operations.
  • Manage engines through the repair process within budget constraints.
  • Control all costs related to the project budget, including material supply and subcontract expenses.
  • Oversee the purchase of materials as needed and collaborate with the USM product line for material support.
  • Conduct regular shop visits to ensure quality and efficiency in the repair process.
  • Negotiate and manage engine repair contracts, ensuring compliance and favorable terms.
  • Facilitate the engine purchase process, including physical inspections and due diligence.
  • Work closely with the outside records team to perform thorough due diligence.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines without compromising on quality.
  • Provide support in the sales process, leveraging technical expertise to assist with client queries and transactions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in powerplant engineering or a related field.
  • Strong negotiation skills with engine shops and repair facilities on maintenance General Terms and Agreements (GTAs) with a proven track record of successful closures.
  • Greatly familiarized with the technical side of the following engine platforms: CFM56-7B/5B, V2500, CF680C2 and PW4000-94.
  • Proficiency in understanding engine technical publications, determining service bulletins and airworthiness applicability.
  • Familiarity with aviation regulations, compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve engine trading and technical objectives.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in aviation leasing, trading, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Quantum ERP System.

Expected Salary: $120,240 - $136,818

 Travel: Travel is required, 10% for client meetings, industry events, and asset inspections.

Language: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Physical Demands:

  • Work Environment: 90% office.
  • 10% Engine/Aircraft Maintenance Facilities.

Working Conditions: This position works in an office environment, with possible visits to repair stations, engine shops, potential leasing/trading organizations.
