Network Administrator Intern

Job Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for maintaining and optimizing network and telecommunications hardware, software, and support systems to maximize network availability and performance.  

Major Responsibilities and Authority:

Install and maintain network hardware devices, configurations, and support systems.

Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues. 

Design Local and Wide Area Network environments which maximize availability, performance, and security. 

Maintain operating systems, updates, and fixes for assigned systems. 

Create and estimate project task lists. 

Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation, or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator status under the Company Driving and Safety Policy. 

Other duties as assigned.

 


Job Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree or above in a computer-related field and a minimum 1-2 years of experience.  

Proficiency in the following technical skills:

    Local and Wide Area Network Technologies

    Solid understanding of the OSI Reference Model

    Cisco IOS/NXOS, routing, switching, and security

    Wireless Networks and technology (IEEE 802.11)

    Firewall Management (PAN and ASA)

    F5 Big IP Platform

    Virtual Private Networks

    SDN Technology Concepts

    TCP/IP networking

    RADIUS, TACACS+, MS NPS, Cisco ACS

    Web Filtering technologies and management

    Windows and Linux OS platforms

    Microsoft Office Suite with Visio 

    CCNA, CCNP, and/or comparable industry standard certification. 

Strong problem solving abilities. 

Ability and willingness to learn and extend skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.

Willing to travel as required.

Occasional long, irregular hours. 

Use of PC, telephone, copy machine, fax, and other office equipment over six (6) hours per day.  

Extended periods of sitting and concentration.

Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and moving items weighing up to 30 lbs.  

Occasional travel by auto or other public transportation.
