Job Responsibilities:

This position provides office and clerical support for County Farm Bureau activities, member service related to the issuance and maintenance of memberships and insurance policies, and additional duties as directed that may be performed by a licensed Insurance Service Representative. 

 

Major Responsibilities and Authority:

 

Assist in promoting and executing core County Farm Bureau purpose activities. Place high priority in assisting the CFB President and Board members with duties related to the promotion of agriculture including Board activities and general office and clerical support as directed.

 

Provide prompt, professional member/customer service in office, via telephone and other electronic means; updating member data and documenting each contact within the Customer Relationship Management system.

 

Assist applicant with membership application, create new membership in MIRA, process payment and file documentation electronically.

 

Process membership changes in MIRA as requested and file documentation electronically.

 

Ability to assist in the production of new business insurance quotes when necessary; prepare and complete insurance applications and required documentation, secure signatures and down payments, submit for issuance via appropriate systems/processes and file documentation electronically.

 

Ability to assist in the production of change quotes when necessary; prepare and complete change applications and required documentation, secure signatures and payment as required, submit for issuance via appropriate systems/processes, and file documentation electronically.

 

Receive, verify, and apply payments for memberships and insurance policies, and prepare daily deposits following established guidelines and procedures.

 

Review Delinquent Membership report daily and contact members to assist with membership renewal, updates to membership data, and payment.

 

Review Policy Activity report daily, contact members to review recent policy/claims transactions and assist members as directed.

 

Assist members with claims reporting and provide members with information on claims status as directed.

 

Maintain calendar of appointments and deadlines and assist in setting appointments with members and others as directed.

 

Exercise good judgement and confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records and reports regarding the county, members and insureds.

 

Comply with the Certified Fleet operator requirements of the Driving and Safety Policy.

 

Other duties as may be assigned.


Job Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma or GED.

 

Hold/obtain and maintain Insurance Service Representative or General Lines license pursuant to Texas law. Must be acquired within 60 days of hire.

 

Ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM with a maximum of 5% errors.

 

Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

 

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

 

Effective interpersonal verbal skills, in person and via telephone.

 

Ability to plan, organize, and complete detailed work independently or in a team environment.

 

Strong organizational skills with ability to coordinate several tasks at the same time.

 

Willing and able to learn new skills and refine existing skills as needed.

 

Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not disqualify the employee from driving for business purposes.

Use of computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, scanner, and other office equipment over six (6) hours daily.

 

Extended periods of sitting and concentration.

 

Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and reaching in an office environment.

 

Occasional lifting and moving items weighing up to 30 lbs.

 

Occasional travel by auto or other public transportation.
