Job Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for preparation and analysis of information required for accurate financial statements, governmental reports, and board reports for the company. This position also assists the accounting staff with day-to-day accounting functions and general questions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

Interact with accounting staff in analyzing and distributing work assignments, resolving discrepancies, and reviewing all AP batches for General Ledger coding before posting.

Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement while analyzing budget versus actual comparisons.

Review, document and resolve variances in monthly analysis reports.

Oversee and review monthly bank reconciliations for accuracy.

Prepare journal entries and enter financial data and transactions into the ledger.

Review and approve monthly intercompany and pro-rated billings.

Responsible for monthly balancing of membership dues and returns.

Communicates with State Directors regarding expense reports and prepares for processing.

Calculate sales commissions and review billings for publications.

Assist in the operation of the Fleet Sales program by maintaining accurate records of company vehicle purchases/sales and produce monthly car lease billings.

Responsible for maintaining companies fixed asset program and ensuring accuracy of all additions and/or disposals.

Prepare and file property tax renditions.

Compile data for preparation of Franchise Tax return.

Assists in preparation of other information needed for financial or governmental reporting as directed by the Senior Accounting Manager to include annual financial statement audit, board reports, and annual census reports.

Assist Senior Accounting Manager in preparing annual budget forecast and provides input.

Comply with the Certified Fleet Operation requirements of the Company Driving and Safety policy.

Other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Four-year degree from accredited college or university with major in accounting required.

CPA preferred.

Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Proven work experience in a similarly related position.

Must be able to travel overnight and to attend necessary meetings, etc.

Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation, or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet

Operator Status, under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Use of P.C., telephone, copy machine, fax machine, and other office equipment over six (6) hours daily.

Extended periods of sitting and concentration.

Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and moving items weighing up to 30 lbs.

WORK CONDITIONS

Occasional travel by auto or other public transportation.

Occasional periods of high-stress situations are required in meeting necessary deadlines.

Work to be conducted in an office environment owned or leased by the company.
