Job Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the company’s cloud infrastructure to maximize the availability and performance of business applications and services with an emphasis on data.

This position requires the ability to train and mentor other team members.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

Position Responsibilities:

Configure and maintain network/compute/storage environment in the cloud in a cost-effective manner.

Troubleshoot cloud hardware, software, and performance issues.

Design resilient and scalable cloud-based architectures and validate adherence to customer technical requirements and leading best practices.

Work with Infrastructure team to manage resources in the cloud.

Design resilient and scalable cloud environments which maximize availability, performance, and security.

Ensure installations and configurations are working properly.

Troubleshoot and resolve problems with equipment and software.

Provide overview training to end users.

Provide after-hours problem resolution as required.

Responsible for relevant documentation.

Manage and update service requests to ascertain that contracted service levels are met.

Utilize ITIL framework for Change, Incident, and Problem Management for supporting the production environment.

Other duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications:

At least one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in a network, computer, or management related field and substantial experience in an information technology-related field.
  • Associate degree from an accredited school in a technology-related field and extensive experience in an information technology-related field.

Excellent troubleshooting abilities that can work as an individual contributor or technical lead.

Ability and willingness to learn and extend skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The ability to engage constructively with peers and technical leads to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisions.

Significant experience in translating business needs and requirements into comprehensive, useful, and clear designs (e.g., logical architecture, system interaction, etc.) and artifacts.

Willing to travel as required.

Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator status under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.

Technical Experience Required:

Use of containerization platforms.

Establish Budget and Cost alerts.

Understand Cloud foundational components.

Cloud infrastructures (Azure - preferrable, AWS, Google App Engine)

Cloud IaaS PaaS, SaaS, storage, container solutions

Cloud automation and provisioning tools/techniques such as: Bash, PowerShell, Python, Perl

Version control systems for code management and artifact tracking such as GitHub, Jira or Azure DevOps

Disaster recovery & resilience capabilities

Cloud Optimization

Cloud technologies such as Rancher, Argo CD, Argo Workflow, Helm, Service Mesh, CloudFormation and Crossplane.

Use of DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, GitOps, CI/CD Pipelines, Fortify, Chef/Ansible, Terraform, Nexus, Jenkins, Travis, Cloud Build.

Microservices, container-based platforms and related deployment technologies to include Kubernetes, Docker and Serverless Functions.

Design and development of Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, and Azure Synapse.

Design and implement on-premise/Cloud hybrid connectivity working with Vnet, Subnet, Route table, and Express Route.

Use of Cloud Storage, Virtual Machine, Function App, Logic App, Key Vault and other Azure fundamental services.

Understand basics of Networking & Security.

Good hands-on experience in configuring Firewalls, Private Link, Load Balancers, SSL/TLS.

Basic understanding of IP addressing, Ports, DNS etc.

X86 based server hardware and OS configuration and troubleshooting.

Create cloud solutions and move on-premise solutions to cloud infrastructure.

Manage a hybrid multi-cloud/on-premise environment that includes backups, storage (Rubrik, Nimble, Qumulo) and compute (VMWare).

Enforce security best practices by using Azure policies, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel and implementing least privilege access method.

Cloud-based identity management, security monitoring, various compliance frameworks, and a deep understanding of core security concepts and processes as it relates to securing Cloud technologies.
