SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment for all staff and visitors at SCHC facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize exam rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas in accordance with established cleaning schedules, infection prevention protocols, and organizational policies to support patient safety and continuity of care.
  • Perform routine floor care, including sweeping, mopping, washing, buffing, vacuuming, and carpet cleaning, to maintain a safe, clean, and accessible environment across all clinic locations.
  • Properly collect, remove, and dispose of trash, recycling, and shredding materials in accordance with clinic procedures and safety standards.
  • Clean and maintain furniture, fixtures, windows, screens, and light fixtures; replace light bulbs as needed to ensure a well-maintained and functional facility.
  • Assist Facilities Maintenance staff with exterior upkeep, including sweeping debris, washing walkways, and supporting basic landscaping activities to maintain safe and accessible entrances, walkways, and grounds.
  • Maintain janitorial equipment, tools, and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner to reduce hazards and support efficient operations.
  • Monitor janitorial supply inventory, ensure awareness of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) locations, and promptly report supply needs or new chemical products to the Facilities Maintenance Manager to support OSHA compliance.
  • Follow all OSHA safety requirements, including proper chemical handling, labeling, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and reporting of safety concerns or hazards.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality while performing duties in clinical and administrative areas, limiting access to protected health information to the minimum necessary.
  • Keep delivery, storage, and service areas clear of boxes, supplies, and obstructions to ensure safe access, emergency egress, and efficient clinic operations.
  • Perform routine cleaning of breakroom and kitchen areas, including loading and emptying dishwashers as assigned.
  • Accurately record attendance and hours worked in accordance with organizational timekeeping and HR policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support clinic operations and compliance requirements.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from high school or the equivalent, at least 18 years old and 2 years of relevant experience preferred.

GENERAL:

To ensure the health of our community, patients, and staff, SCHC requires proof of completed vaccine series or serologic test results for MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis and Hepatitis B, as well as TB screening, prior to employment.
