Pharmacy Technician I/II

Sunshine Community Health Center (SCHC) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I/II to support safe, accurate, and timely pharmacy services in our telepharmacy environment. Working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, this position assists with prescription processing, medication preparation, patient service, inventory management, insurance and pharmacy claim support, and pharmacy documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional and compassionate service to patients dropping off and picking up prescriptions.
• Enter and process prescription orders and prepare medications for pharmacist review.
• Maintain accurate patient, insurance, pharmacy, and inventory records.
• Assist with routine insurance and prescription claim questions and coordinate with pharmacists, providers, billing staff, and other members of the care team.
• Support inventory management, 340B documentation, point-of-sale activities, and other pharmacy operations.
• Perform duties within assigned licensure, certification, training, competency, and pharmacist/PIC direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active Alaska Pharmacy Technician license required before beginning pharmacy technician duties.
• Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, accuracy, and patient safety.
• Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively with patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Pharmacy, healthcare, medical billing, insurance, inventory, customer service, or telepharmacy experience preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician II: Current national certification through PTCB (CPhT) or NHA is required for expanded-scope duties.

GENERAL:

To ensure the health of our community, patients, and staff, SCHC requires proof of completed vaccine series or serologic test results for MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Tdap and Hepatitis B, as well as TB screening, prior to employment.
