Must have the ability to carry out Net Controller responsibilities by effectively communicating with Government and contractor personnel and have a thorough working knowledge of all optical support systems and their support capabilities, Range optics site locations, average travel times between sites, and Optics mission support coordination requirements.  Must have the Optics System technical background and demonstrated operational ability to accomplish the following with minimal supervision: 

Work with Range Scheduling personnel and unit supervisors to develop weekly forecasts and Range schedules thereby ensuring that the instrumentation listed in the Government-provided Operational Procedures is available to meet Range schedules in an efficient manner. 

Schedule and coordinate the support of other functions such as vehicle dispatch, commo, Government facilities support, generator maintenance, film loading, film processing, courier service, timing and other support systems as necessary for successful mission support. 

Operate permanent or temporary control stations to coordinate the manning and operation of optical instrumentation on scheduled tests ensuring that instrumentation is correctly positioned and that operating personnel are briefed and understand specific tracking and recording instructions. 

Work with Government controllers to coordinate mission slides, reschedules, and X-

rays. 

Include demonstration of satisfactory skill and good performance with three years of progressive experience in the specific field in addition to graduation from a two-year resident course at a technical institute or a total of six years progressive experience in the specific field.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.  Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. 

Work will include associated cross-utilization into other jobs as required.  May require some overtime and/or weekend work.
