Coordinator serves as the central focal point for project support and scheduling operations, reporting directly to the Department Manager and working closely with Supervisors and Project Leads to ensure that resources, costs, and schedules consistently meet customer requirements and organizational objectives. This role is responsible for assisting with resource planning, scheduling, and budget monitoring while generating, updating, documenting, and completing Work Orders within the contract CMMS application. The coordinator oversees the progression of government-issued Work Requests and Change Orders throughout their lifecycle, ensuring projects remain within budget, requirements are fulfilled, and deliverables are completed on schedule.
In this role, the coordinator continually evaluates resource levels and operational processes to ensure workflows run smoothly and efficiently while actively participating in quality improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency and reducing waste. Responsibilities also include coordinating and scheduling activities with test support customers, assisting in the development and maintenance of mission support schedules and resource allocation plans, and creating purchase requests necessary for task completion. The position requires coordination with external departments and sections to accomplish large-scope tasks and projects, as well as constant monitoring of PCMS Work Requests, Change Orders, project schedules, and daily roadblock schedules. Additionally, the coordinator assists Supervisors with tracking key performance metrics, generating monthly reports, and supporting Safety, Environmental, and Facility-related initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with experience managing schedules, budgets, and CMMS/PCMS systems in a fast-paced operational environment.
Candidates must possess an associate degree from an accredited two-year technical institute and have a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in operations and project support. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and possess strong organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented skills. This position requires a self-motivated and proactive individual with a strong work ethic, leadership capabilities, and a solid understanding of project management methodologies. Candidates should be IT-oriented and capable of quickly learning and effectively utilizing a variety of business systems and applications. A valid state driver’s license is required, and employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a security investigation. The selected candidate must also meet all eligibility requirements to work at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) installation.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Held a supervisory or leadership role. Experience working on DoD contracts. Experience with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) applications.
