POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Highly organized and detail-oriented Vehicle Fleet Coordinator to oversee and manage a fleet of 100+ vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, operational, and compliant with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of fleet operations, and a proven track record of managing a diverse set of vehicles efficiently and cost-effectively. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing a fleet of vehicles (semi-trucks, pickups, cars, vans, etc.) ensuring that they are well-maintained, regularly serviced, and available for use as required, schedule and manage regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections of fleet vehicles, monitor vehicle performance and ensure timely repairs to minimize downtime.  Additionally, the Vehicle Fleet Coordinator will be tasked with developing and managing the fleet budget, which includes fuel, maintenance, repairs, other related costs, and identifying areas for cost reduction.   Developing and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, and monitoring fleet utilization. This includes identifying opportunities to optimize the fleet’s size, composition, and performance while reducing costs, as well as tracking vehicle assets throughout their lifecycle, including purchases, leases, disposals, and transfers. As part of this role, the coordinator will be responsible for setting up and configuring vehicle fleet management software including real-time monitoring, establishing alerts and tracking driver performance. Another critical aspect of the role will be managing the lifecycle of vehicles from acquisition to turn-in, while maintaining strong relationships with service providers (including fuel suppliers, maintenance providers, and vehicle leasing companies), preparing regular reports on fleet performance, costs, and KPIs for senior management. The Fleet Coordinator will maintain accurate records of vehicle status, service history, and financials, leverage fleet management software and GPS systems to track vehicle locations, monitor fuel usage, and optimize routes. Ensuring that technological solutions are utilized to improve fleet efficiency and performance will also be a key part of the job


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered). Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, military based vehicle fleet management, or a related field and be proficient with fleet management software, GPS tracking systems and Microsoft Business Applications (Excel, Word etc.). Strong organizational and multitasking skills as well as excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities are essential. A valid state driver's license is required, and employment is contingent upon successfully completing a security investigation. The selected applicant must also meet all eligibility requirements to work on the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) installation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to minimum qualifications, candidates with the ability to manage budgets and analyze financial data will be highly valued. A solid understanding of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and safety regulations is also desired.
