POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Electromagnetic Radiation Effects Engineer will develop, review, and maintain technical documentation related to electromagnetic radiation environments, including schematics, specifications, data sheets, manuals, and test procedures. This role involves writing and evaluating procedures to ensure compliance with MIL-STD requirements and equipment capabilities. The engineer will support the design, development, and implementation of hardware for a variety of test systems, as well as design and develop custom instrumentation to meet specific customer test requirements. Additional responsibilities include performing data acquisition for electromagnetic and microwave testing, operating and maintaining high-power amplifiers, and providing technical support, testing, and consultation to Government engineers and other customers. Short-duration travel and occasional overtime may be required to meet government directives.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience is preferred. Required qualifications include experience with RF and electromagnetic instrumentation for recording, measuring, and validating RF/electromagnetic signals, as well as experience with RF/EMI testing procedures and methodologies. Candidates must also hold a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully complete a background investigation to maintain eligibility for access to classified information.

Desired Qualifications:

Ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general electronics, including experience with circuit analysis, parametric data, and circuit simulation software. Familiarity with multiple computer environments (PCs, databases, etc.) and hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power meters is highly desirable. Experience with RF and electromagnetic instrumentation for recording, measuring, and validating RF/electromagnetic signals, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong technical writing skills are also preferred.
