POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Transportable Telemetry Systems (TTS) Program is seeking engineers with either an electrical or mechanical engineering background. The TTS systems are both land and sea-based telemetry data acquisition systems that support testing of weapon systems in the Pacific Theater. The successful candidate must be able to travel 40-60% each year and able to work aboard ships while out at sea. The typical deployment is for 2 weeks. Responsibilities include (but not limited to) design, modernization, maintenance, component testing, configuration, operations, simulations, performing technical data reduction and analysis, programming instrumentation, and producing detailed technical documentation.

This individual must possess excellent communication skills, able to produce well documented technical status reports, and work well in a team environment. Duties may include cross-utilization rotations into other positions within the team as required. The job may require long days and frequent weekend work, especially during mission support. Training opportunities will be made available for entry-level personnel.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Applicant must possess a B. S. Degree in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

The candidate must be capable of supporting extended travel schedules and must be capable of working at heights over 20 feet above ground. The position requires working indoors and outdoors as well as in inclement weather conditions. The candidate must be able to lift heavy equipment weighing 50 pounds or more. Must be able to live and work aboard a ship while on travel.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A strong background in electronics and good understanding of digitally controlled hardware and systems. An understanding of RF theory, digital signal processing, telemetry tracking systems, and telemetry data formats. Familiarity with military test range operations.
