Strategic Analysis, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and capable
Senior Process Modeling Analyst
to support its Energy Analysis Division.
This position is part-time, on call (<17.5 hour/week), and can be conducted from a Remote Work Location.
Responsibilities:
Primary tasking will be Aspen Plus and/or HYSYS modeling and costing of chemical or electrochemical systems. The work will entail creation of process flow models within Aspen/HYSYS, selection and sizing of process unit hardware (within Aspen or HYSYS), capital and operating cost projection, sensitivity analysis, and writing of documentation reports. The work will be in support of multi-disciplinary analysis of projects in the alternative energy, CO2 reduction, biomass/SAF, or recycling sectors.
Requirements:

Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering: PhD preferred, Master's Degree with strong experience accepted
·
10+ years of engineering experience
·
5+ years of modeling experience with Aspen or HYSYS
·
Experience with capital cost estimation of large projects (e.g., chemical plants, power plants, nuclear plants, natural gas combined cycle, etc.)
·
Experience with system performance estimation/analysis
·
Ability to work independently and to formulate a self-directed action plan from a general problem statement
·
Must be a US Citizen
Desired Capabilities and Characteristics:
·
Experience using Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE), Aspen In-Plant Cost Estimator, and Aspen Process Economic Analyzer (APEA)
·
Experience with analysis of alternative energy systems preferred
·
Superior written and public presentation skills
·
Ability to work well in a team in a matrix organization
