Job Description:

Part-time, 72 hours per pay period
Monday-Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, one day off every two weeks
Will rotate working at various clinic locations.

Are you ready to guide patients through their healthcare journey? A Patient Services Representative schedules patients, in-person or by phone, who need further diagnostic tests and services, specialty care or surgical/procedure appointments. You will be working across clinical departments and other medical facilities to coordinate appointments, referrals, electronic health records and insurance. Both our patients and providers will look to you as a resource. We are looking for someone who communicates effectively and works well with patients, families and the healthcare team to ensure a smooth and efficient healthcare experience. Key Job Duties

  • Schedule internal and external tests, procedures, surgeries and consultations accurately.
  • Schedule interpreter services
  • Encourage and support patients and families to actively participate in their care, assist them in communicating with their providers and other healthcare professionals.
  • Coordinate external facility scheduling; provide maps, transportation arrangements and assist with release and transfer of information.
  • Communicate test preparation and patient education instructions to patients. Use appropriate teaching tools, resources and language for patients.
  • Manage all phases of the patient encounter.
  • Demonstrate insurance knowledge, prior authorizations, managed care processes and electronic health records.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of computer operation and support nursing staff and providers.
  • Assist in processing hospital discharges for scheduling.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Job Requirements:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with patients, families and all members of the healthcare team.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Computer skills including proficient keyboard skills, use of e-mail and internet.
  • Ability to work independently and with decentralized teams to meet goals and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and adapt to frequent change

Preferred:

  • Previous healthcare office experience preferred.

Employment is contingent on successful completion of drug screen, health assessment, and background check.

All employees scheduled 60-80 hours per pay period are eligible for full benefits.
