Job Description:

The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans and administers medically prescribed occupational therapy intervention to patients while working closely with patients and their family to support development in the areas of sensory processing, psychosocial development, motor coordination, and cognitive functioning for the purpose of improved independence for the child. Ensures development and proper education of patients and family in home programs. This position would be working in the clinic setting at our Pediatric Therapy Services or Children’s Health Center location and potentially outreach at a school in the region.

Job Requirements:

Current state Occupational Therapy licensure and graduate of an accredited college or university with a certificate in Occupational Therapy.  Current BLS (CPR) certification or must attain within 30 days of employment.  Basic computer skills and excellent communication skills required.  Knowledge of occupational therapy, specifically in the realm of pediatrics.  Ability to assist in the development of programs, procedures, policies, and protocols. A thorough knowledge of medical practice, dedication to patient satisfaction and an ability to work effectively with patients, physicians and other staff members. Must complete the required continuing education units (CEUs) for professional licensure within their professional guidelines/requirements prior to the deadline, and retain copies of the CEUs for each year. Must renew their professional license prior to the deadline, and submit proof of the application, as well as a paper copy, of the renewed license to the Site Manager in a timely manner.
