Job Summary
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Assistant Casino Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the assigned casino, ensuring superior guest service to all guests and providing additional services to the Guests including, but not limited to payouts, answering questions, and handling minor disputes. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the organization’s policies and procedures, tribal regulations, and all federal/state laws, as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1.
All Team Members must embrace and deliver Kiowa’s Guest Service Standards to every Guest on every shift, as outlined in Orientation, the Team Member Handbook, SOP’s, and any other related training.
2.
Ensure an exceptional level of service and satisfaction is achieved throughout the properties, exceeding the expectations of external and internal Guests alike in a timely and effective manner.
3.
Promote positive guest relations, greet guests, and create a friendly atmosphere.
4.
Develop Kiowa Tribal team members and maximize employment opportunities for Kiowa Tribal Members.
5.
Formulate and recommend operating policies to the General Manager for review.
6.
Be aware of competitors and market conditions in and around the surrounding geographic area.
7.
Ensure compliance of departments with all regulatory requirements and monitor team member performance, understanding, and application of relevant compliance and regulatory requirements.
8.
Support strategic plans that are developed by the executive management and casino manager.
9.
Assist the General Manager with review of daily operations and reporting requirements.
10.
Train team members, and/or assess the adherence to all Casino policies & procedures and internal controls.
11.
Maintain constant awareness of floor activity to protect the playing public and the integrity of the Casino.
12.
Collaborate with other department leaders in the safety, cleanliness, and guest service standards that are expected, and help resolve challenges and/or help implement continuous improvement measures.
13.
Responsible for Guest service proficiency, Team Member morale, staffing levels, and effectiveness of Supervisors and Slot Attendants.
14.
Utilize sound management and leadership skills in making decisions.
15.
Act as a host, explaining slot machine details to Guests and settling disputes as necessary.
16.
Promote a positive image and the highest guest service standards when interfacing with Guests.
17.
Assist with the hiring, retaining, promoting, performance evaluations, training, disciplining, and terminating Team Member with concurrence of the Department Manager, Department Director, Chief Operating Officer/General Manager, and the Director of Human Resources.
18.
Maintain a high level of Guest confidentiality.
19.
Adhere to all regulatory, departmental, and casino policies and procedures, and to the MICS.
20.
Maintain knowledge of special events, hours of operation, and other pertinent information.
21.
Perform additional duties or projects, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
•
High School diploma or GED is required.
•
Bachelor’s degree in casino management, hospitality or related field and 2 years casino supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•
Working knowledge of the Gaming Industry and the regulations governing gaming operations preferred.
•
Experience in compliance, security, surveillance, audit, or gaming operations preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises all team members in the Slot, Security, Cage and Soft Count departments.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
•
Ability to obtain and maintain Gaming License is required.
•
Key positions require knowledge and application of Title 31 reporting requirements.
•
Must have the ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug test.

While performing the job duties, the employee is required to maneuver in all areas of casino and related entity locations when necessary. Ability to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the offices and between buildings or properties for the duration of work hours. Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms, including lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, or boxes, up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity to discern and examine text, graphics, color, and symmetry. Speech to communicate clearly, express ideas and convey information in an understandable manner. Ability to hear for listening comprehension and to understand ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and examine documents, records, and files. Job may sit, lift, move, carry, and balance heavy objects and involve standing and walking for hours at a time.
Mental
Social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behavior. Critical thinking to use logic and reasoning, to reach conclusions or optional solutions. Comprehension in assessing, analyzing, and processing alpha, numeric and visual data, and the ability to accurately formulate or complete required documents. Work Environment

Environment includes exposure to second-hand smoke, high noise level, bright lights, and sometimes fluctuating temperatures or weather conditions. Must be able to work irregular or additional hours or shifts, including holidays or weekends, as assigned, in order to meet business needs.
