Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will, as an IT Systems Engineer, specialize in the management and operations of Linux and Windows server/workstation environment in support of the Digital/HWIL Event Planning tasks at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC). The candidate's primary duties will include installing, troubleshooting, patching and maintenance of the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems Ground Test Center (BGTC), Flight Test, War games & Exercise, and Digital Lab assets and infrastructure. He/She will maintain Red Hat Linux and Windows systems and provide daily support for hardware and software issues, data recovery, system upgrades, software upgrades and configuration issues. The engineer will perform system administration on specialized Computer Network Defense (CND) applications and systems (e.g., HBSS, ACAS) to include installation, configuration, maintenance, and backup/restore assistance. He/She will be responsible for loading and the support of required system software including Microsoft Office 2010, additional Microsoft suite applications, test applications and Government Off The Shelf (GOTS) & Customer Off The Shelf (COTS) software. Additional responsibilities include ensuring system software installs, system maintenance, and break/fix activities, as well as, executing cyber security initiatives and sustainments are done in accordance with established policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
*Bachelor degree in Information Technologies or related field and eight (8) years of relatable experience (other acceptable educational/experience: *Associate/12 years experience, Master/3 years experience)
*Security+ with Continuing Education (CE) or equivalent certification under DoD 8570.01-M
*Experience as a System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) with remote administration
*Experience with Active Directory
*Experience with Linux system administration in a networked environment and with MS Office tools, including Visio
*Hands-on experience in design, implementation, and troubleshooting for Microsoft Windows computing environments
*Knowledge in/with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Secure Host Baseline (SHB) imaging standards
*Ability to multitask in a dynamic & fast-paced environment, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, and work with minimal  oversight
*Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
*Possess creative problem-solving abilities, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to self-motivate and self-direct
*Ability to be "on-call"
*Ability to complete occasional local travel

Desired Competencies/Experience/Certifications:
*Experience with any of the following:
-MDA/DTR, MDA/DTW, and/or MDA/ESI customers
-Communication networks like MDACNet, DISN, or SIPRNet
-Linux RedHat, and other operation platforms outside of Microsoft
-Installing, patching, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows servers and workstations including associated peripherals
-DISA Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool used in scanning and remediating computer system vulnerabilities
-Resolving hardware & software conflicts and perform server maintenance and break/fix activities
-Operating within a virtualized environments such as VMWare
-Department of Defense networking experience with classified data networks
-Red/Black concepts
-Information Assurance compliance
-MDA classified networks
-Training and exercise environment, particularly war game operations
-BMC Remedy, JavaScript, NetApp, and other storage technologies
-Operations & Maintenance sustainment activities
-Vendor relations
*Familiarity with architecture supporting Mission Partner Environments (MPE)
*Proficiency with Visio 2010


*Must be able to maintain, or already possess a secret security clearance
