Job Responsibilities
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Transaction Service continues to support spiral enhancements and ongoing sustainment activities of the Global EXchange Services (GEX) that supports the overall Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal initiative to provide a common set of tools and service to implement Electronic Commerce (ED) throughout the DoD and Federal Government. GEX is an integration of multiple Customer Off The Shelf (COTS) software packages that provide messaging and mediation service primarily to the Business Mission Area in the DoD.
As the Program Manager, the candidate will lead projects that involve the successful management of teams composed of data processing and other information management professionals who have been involved in analysis, design, integrations, testing, documenting, converting, extending, and implementing automated information and/or telecommunications systems. He/She will perform day-to-day management of overall contract support operations, possibly involving multiple projects and groups of personnel at multiple locations. He/She will also organize, direct, and coordinate the planning and production of all contract support activities. The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to establish and alter, as necessary, corporate management structure to direct effective contract support activities.
Qualifications
Requirements:
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in program management
  • A minimum of ten (10) years' of leadership experience with progressively higher responsibility in the public and/or private sector in the Information Technology and/or consulting fields
  • Experience with the Information Technology Acquisition process and its milestones
  • Experience in analyzing a variety of source documentation and supporting the creation of acquisition documentation
