Job Responsibilities
The candidate will provide engineering support for the Modeling and Operations Software (MOS) Directorate Sensor Modeling Center (SMC) organization on the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Joint National Integration Research & Development (JRDC) program. He/She will work with a team of engineers and analysts on the development and implementation of a suite of sensor models used for element & system level analysis and verification & validation of models & simulations. The candidate will work closely with systems engineers, software developers, and test engineers to provide algorithm analysis and data verification. He/She will be responsible for analyzing the performance behavior and making comparisons to tactical system behavior, for SMC's two products; Open Systems Architecture Sensor Models (OSM) and Open Systems Architecture Signal Injector (OSI). He/She will also be a key representative for interfacing with stakeholders and customers to provide analysis and integration support. 

Other tasks will include, coordinating elements and system-level performance parameters across multiple organizations within MDA and provide analysis and quick-turn support for multiple events including performance assessments, digital simulation, system development, risk reduction, ground/flight tests and mission planning. He/She will create presentations that describe and demonstrate advanced algorithms as implemented in OSM and OSI for a variety of audiences. The candidate will work in conjunction with the government customer to support sensor model VV&A, including confirming issues, determining the impact, and providing a path forward.
*Bachelor degree in Physics, Mathematics or related engineering discipline with a minimum of twenty-five (25) years of related experience
*Strong analytical background including Monte Carlo analysis and statistical regression
*Fluency with MATLAB, including data visualization, scripting, and functional programming
*Ability to read C++ code
*Knowledge of radar fundamentals including signal processing, target acquisition, and target tracking
*Support occasional CONUS travel

Desired Competencies/Education/Certifications:
*Master degree in Physics, Mathematics or related engineering discipline with a minimum of twenty (20) years of related experience OR
*Doctorate in Physics, Mathematics or related engineering discipline with a minimum of fourteen (14) years of related experience
*Familiarity with Linux or Unix based development
*Knowledge of domain specific radar principles, including signal processing, target acquisition, target tracking resource management, discrimination,  and battle manager interfaces
*Experience using C++, or other Object-Oriented languages, in software development
*Experience with MySQL, or other SQL database, queries
*Ability to read Ada code
*Performing project lead duties through the system engineering lifecycle, including SPR, PDR, CDR, and TRR
*Agile software development processes experience
*Modeling and simulation experience which will include distributed simulations
*Experience with software V&V at the White Box and Black Box level
*Technical leadership abilities in a DoD contracting environment
*Ability to work independently and in a team environment
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work atmosphere

*Must be able to obtain or already possess a secret security clearance
