Job Responsibilities
The candidate will support the Ballistic Missile Defense System Support (BMDSS) Organization at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) as a Software Test Engineer. He/She will be responsible for performing test control activities focused on the configuration and operation of a wide range of test stimulus and monitoring tools, to include a major Linux-based simulation system and various tactical message injection and monitoring systems, both Windows and Unix based. The candidate's activities will include the development of software libraries and tools to support message recording, playback, and data manipulation. He/She must be able to quickly adapt to new situations and short deadlines, have a strong commitment to a team environment, demonstrate the capacity to work unsupervised and be willing to learn new technologies. He/She must also be able to manage multiple projects and resources to meet high-demand objectives.
Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Software Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience (acceptable alternative education/experience: Associate/9 years)
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire, Security+ certification
  • Experience programming in Java, Shell script, and Perl script in the Windows and Linux environment
  • Experience troubleshooting code & scripts and workstation & server configurations
  • Experience with IP networking concepts and troubleshooting

  • Desired Competencies/Experience/Certifications:
  • Experience with Ballistic Missile Defense system operations & interconnectivity, theater, midcourse, & terminal missile defense, and wargaming laboratories & interfaces
  • Knowledge of strategic & theater missile defense weapon systems, sensor systems, tactical communications, and Command & Control Battle Management Communication (C2BMC) environments
  • Familiarity with tactical message formats
  • Knowledge of DoD communications systems and networks/protocols
  • Knowledge of test planning and test conduct within laboratory environment

  • Clearance:
  • Must possess a secret security clearance with the additional ability to obtain a top secret clearance
