Job Responsibilities

Part-time position supporting the Parts, Materials and Processes (PMP) program for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program in compliance with the QS-003-PMAP-Rev B.   The successful candidate will perform PMP tasking, including:

  • Support to As-Designed Products and Materials List (ADPML) updates, including review of quarterly subcontractor submittals and generating ADPML/Obsolescence report

  • Perform Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS)/obsolescence evaluations, and document appropriate obsolescence mitigation plans in a DMS database.

  • Plan and implement defective parts and components control program (Government-Industry Data Exchange Program - GIDEP) evaluation process to produce reports as customer-deliverable reports

  • Provide Subject Matter Experts (SME) support to GMD IPTs as necessary to successfully disposition of the Program Parts Control Board (PMPCB) to ensure that PMP selected demonstrates PMAP compliance to DSC PSOW paragraph 3.1.3.6.7 Parts, Materials and Processes for Mission Critical Equipment

  • Provide technical oversight of major subcontractor data submittals and compilation of GMD System level reports as deliverable items to MDA customer

  • Participate in/co-chair GMD Parts, Materials and Process Control Board (PMPCB) to ensure disposition of all PMP in accordance with GMD requirements; including review of data packages

  • Work Windchill Integrated Parts List (IPL) tasks

  • Disposition subcontractor engineering change requests in drawing/configuration control system.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of MDA-QA-003-PMAP-Rev B required.  Ability to apply knowledge of controlling specifications and PMAP management in order to analyze/audit component manufacturing processes, parts and their applications for compliance.  Ability to review and evaluate engineering drawings for PMAP compliance or impacts.  Knowledge of industry standards for material or component selection and implementation.  Ability to perform Supplier audits for PMAP compliance, and work with Suppliers and Supplier Management to modify SOWs if required.   Experience participating in/leading Parts Materials & Process Control Board (PMPCB).  Ability to evaluate component obsolescence and life cycle impacts to GMD program.  Ability to accurately input data to PMAP support tools/database.   Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical personnel.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office standard desktop applications.   Data manipulation within Microsoft Excel and database programming strongly desired.

Level 3:
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, mathematics, physics. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.  Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. C
urrent active Secret or higher clearance.  Some travel may be required.
