Job Responsibilities

Systems Engineer to provide engineering support for the Modeling and Operations Software (MOS) Directorate Sensor Modeling Center (SMC) organization on the JRDC program at Schriever AFB, CO. The engineer will work closely with a team of systems engineers and developers on the development and implementation of a suite of sensor models and radar signal injectors used for element and system level analysis and verification and validation. The engineer will be responsible for performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, supportability and effective analysis, developing analysis/testing tools, and making comparisons to tactical system behavior, for SMC’s Open Systems Architecture Signal Injector (OSI) product. The engineer will work with an integrated Agile team to perform holistic analyses of the SMC products to include: concept, design, development, test, deployment, and operational support. The engineer ensures that logical and systematic conversion of stakeholder and customer needs into product requirements that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The engineer will participate in all required activities to include interfacing with stakeholders, development of systems engineering plans and processes, quality assurance, reviews of product deliverables, and interfacing with task leads and/or product leads in producing quality reports/products.The engineer will perform functional analysis, schedule analysis, detailed trade studies, develop technical white papers, perform analysis on hardware/software architectures, elicit/allocate product requirements, develop testing strategies, configure complex tests, perform tracking/reporting of problems, perform analyses for root cause, and work with developers to resolve problems. The engineer will coordinate element and system-level performance parameters across multiple organizations within MDA and provide analysis and quick-turn support for multiple events.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in physics, mathematics, or related engineering discipline. 15 years of related work experience, advanced degrees may substitute for years of experience• Must have experience in and be comfortable using software to analyze problems (e.g. Excel, Bash, Perl, Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, and JavaScript).Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment• Demonstrated ability to identify and determine solutions to complex engineering issues that arise during system development• Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

?An advanced degree in physics, mathematics, or related engineering discipline• Strong analytical background including Monte Carlo analysis and statistical regression• Knowledge of domain specific radar principles, including signal processing, target acquisition, target tracking, resource management, discrimination, and battle manager interfaces• Experience with Agile software development processes• Familiarity with Linux and/or Unix-based development • Software development experience using C++ or another Object-Oriented language• Ability to read Ada code• Experience with using MySQL (or another SQL database) queries• Experience with software V&V at the White Box and Black Box level• Fluency in Python and/or MATLAB, including data visualization, scripting, and functional programming• Experience with red-force modeling and software• Experience working in a scrum team• Experience with workflow/process improvement on a team• Experience providing technical leadership in a DoD contracting or related environment• Experience with development and delivery of project milestones within the system engineering lifecycle, including RBP, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and ShRR• Current DoD clearance, Secret or higher• Capable of supporting occasional CONUS travel• Must have the ability to thrive in a fast- paced, dynamic work environment. • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication ski
