Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will support daily network operations and events for the DTG, DTWX and DE organization. He/She will design, configure, install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and complete break/fix activities of the IT network systems which primarily consists of Cisco and Linux based LAN/WANs. The candidate will be responsible for deriving system-level requirements from architectural guidelines and event objectives, develop detailed designs with supporting implementation, test & transition plans, and usher the proposed system changes through the Configuration Management process for successful implementation.

*Bachelor degree in Network Administration or related field and a minimum of 8 years experience (alternate education/experience:  Associate/12 years, Masters/3 years)
*Per DoD 8570, the candidate must already possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, one of the following certifications:
 Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
 GIAX Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
*Hands-on experience in design, implementation, and troubleshooting of the following technologies:
 Cisco routers/switches/firewalls/IPS
 Internal and external routing protocols
 Multicast and Ethernet broadcast in a multi-layer operational network environment
 VoIP Call Manager
Local and long-haul data transmission mediums (RS-530, TI, OC-x, etc)
 SONET, Type I encryption devices and network timing systems
 Microsoft Windows computing environments
 Knowledge in/with DISA and SHB imaging standards
*Ability to travel 50% to both CONUS and OCONUS locations
*Must be process oriented and have strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
*Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal or no supervision
*Must have the ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
*Must be able to work off hours and/or extended work week

Desired Competencies/Experience/Certifications:
*Experience with MDA/DTG, MDA/DTW, and/or MDA ESI customers
*Experience with communication networks (MDACNet, DISN, SIPRNet, JTEN)
*Familiar with architecture supporting Mission Partner Environments (MPE)
*DoD networking experience with classified data networks
*Strong grasp of red/black concepts and IA compliance
*Knowledge of MDA classified networks
*Experience in a training and exercise environment, particularly wargame operations
*Knowledge of DIS, VMF, SSF, TDIL-J, and C2CBMC
*CISSP, CCNP, CCDP or CCIE certification
*Ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast paced environment
*Possess excellent and verbal communication skills
*Be able to work well in a team environment, possess strong interpersonal skills and have a positive attitude

*Must possess, or be able to obtain, a secret security clearance
