Job Responsibilities
As a Modeling and Operations Software Engineer, the candidate will provide engineering support for the Modeling and Operations Software (MOS) Directorate Sensor Modeling Center (SMC) organization on the Joint National Integration Center Research & Development Contract (JRDC) program. He/She will work with a team of engineers and analysts in the architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of a suite of sensor models, used for element and system level analysis, and for verification and validation of models and simulations. He/She will coordinate element and system-level performance parameters across multiple organizations within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and provide analysis and quick-turn software support for multiple events including performance assessments, digital simulation events, system development, risk reduction, ground & flight tests, and mission planning.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor in Computer Science or a related field (acceptable alternative education/experience: Associate/0, High school diploma-GED/3 years)
  • Proficient with C++ and one other programming languages
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Unix based development
  • Understanding of all phases of software development
  • Knowledge of object-oriented software development methodologies
  • Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Desired Proficiencies/Experience/Certifications:
  • Possess a strong background in mathematics and physics
  • Knowledge/experience in several of the following:

  • Missile defense domain
  • GPU programmingCUDA
  • Open CL
  • Java
  • MySQL
  • Modeling and simulation
  • Parallel computing
  • Clearance:
  • Must be able to obtain, or already possess, a secret security clearance
