Job Responsibilities

As the Senior Security Engineer, candidates will support the Risk Assessment team or the Validation team by authoring and maintaining security documentation such as System Security Plans, Risk Assessments, ST&E Plans, Incident Reports, POA&Ms, etc. He/She will participate in and assist subordinate bases/commands in the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) to include artifact generation, requirement analysis, security test and evaluation (ST&E) planning and execution, risk assessment and analysis, and development of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M), systems analysis and hardening strategies, incident response and policy analysis, trusted product evaluation, and IA assessments. 

The candidate should be an expert in both process and network equipment used throughout ICS applications and installation techniques. He/She should have an intimate understanding of IP networking, networking protocols, and security-related technologies with respect to information assurance.  The candidate should have expert level knowledge of network security concepts & best practices, operating system hardening, network device hardening, and experience with network security assessments with respect to common vulnerabilities associated with ICS.  He/She should also be familiar with FISMA, NIST 800 series, Federal RMF and have the ability to articulate such guidelines, policy and processes to supported command staff. 

Travel could be 50% during high-volume times of the year.

  • Master degree or higher in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cyber Security, or Management of Information Systems/Technology
  • A minimum of ten (10) years' experience in Information Assurance/Information Security
  • Possess a CISSP certification or be able to attain one within six (6) months of employment (A higher certification that meets the requirements for IAT Level III and IAM Level III in accordance with DoD 8570.M Table 3, may be acceptable)

  • Clearance Requirements:
  • Must possess an interim secret clearance or higher with eligibility for a top secret clearance with SCI access eligibility
