Job Responsibilities

The BMDSS Software team designs, builds, maintains, upgrades multiple software systems in support of the BMDSS organization and its customers. As part of a small software team, this position is for a Software Engineer tasked with providing for the architecture, design and development of software applications. The selected candidate will be responsible for working within an Agile-based software engineering process development, process integration,   and adhere to established engineering policies, processes, procedures and standards. The candidate must be able to contribute to all phases of the software lifecycle supporting multiple MDA intended use categories, with a focus on interoperability, performance, security, and usability. Position must ensure the quality of software engineering artifacts and products. Candidate may represent the software team at technical and scheduling meetings.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science, software engineering or a related discipline.   • Demonstrated experience in software development, software development process definition and/or improvement, and the development and analysis of software metrics.  • Experience in software development utilizing C#, MVC, JavaScript, .NET., Visual Studio, and SQL. Experience with Agile development processes, such as SCRUM.  • Current Security+ CE certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of start.

?Understanding of the systems engineering process within the DoD acquisition environment. Experience in trusted software development including the use of HP Fortify.   • Experience in code investigation and refactoring. Experience in Dev/ops environment support multiple aspects of software code and application. Proficient in database schema development and normalization and SQL code development.• Familiar with ESRI GIS mapping software or similar. • Experience with AngularJS, bootstrap or similar current technologies.  • Familiarization with DoD Application, Webserver, and Database Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG). Familiar with design patterns and formal software development practices.   • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.  • Candidate has an active DoD Secret clearance. • Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering or a related discipline.
