Job Responsibilities
Within the U.S. Army's Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC), the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) candidate will be responsible for establishing, documenting, and managing the organization's cyber security implementation plan and will ensure compliance with the appropriate DoD policies, regulations and requirements.

The candidate must have a working knowledge of advanced system functions/capabilities, DoD cyber security policies, and hands-on technical knowledge of cyber security protection measures. He/She may be required to work with ISSOs for multiple different assets under the contract purview. He/She must be skilled enough to be able to step in and fulfill and ISSO's duties on an as needed basis. The candidate will serve as the primary point of contact to the Authorizing Official (AO) or his/her alternate for all cyber security related tasks. He/She will have a working knowledge of the policies and procedures required to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all categories of information and will use this knowledge to establish, implement, and monitor data security policies, system hardware and system software. The candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the cyber security process/topic and have the knowledge required to monitor and assess operations/activities of the contract assets.

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Experience as an ISSM implementing DoD Information Assurance requirements
  • Possess knowledge of DoD instructions and procedures relating to cyber security (previous DICAP experience but transition to CNSSI 1253/RMF experience)
  • Possess or be able to obtain CISSP, CAP or CISM certification within six (6) months of being hired; certifications must meet DoD directive 8570.01 for IAM II
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating environments
  • Experience in a research and development environment where software and algorithms are developed
  • Possess/obtain a clearance
  • Ability to obtain SIPR token
  • Completion, or must complete within 30 days of hire, of eMASS training, which requires a SIPR token
  • Must be a US citizen

  • Desired Competencies/Experience/Certifications:
  • Bachelor degree in, but not limited to, Information Technology, Information Assurance or Computer Information Experience with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Possess a SIPR token
  • Previous eMASS experience
  • Previous experience working as a security professional in a DoD environment
  • Familiarity conducting vulnerability scans
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Experience in COMSEC and/or program security roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct cyber security user briefings

  • Must be able to obtain or already possess a secret security clearance
