Job Responsibilities

Systems Engineer to provide engineering support for the Modeling and Operations Software Directorate Sensor Modeling Center organization on the JRDC program at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. The Systems Engineer will be the Sensor Modeling Center’s (SMC) technical site representative for the Open Systems Architecture Signal Injector (OSI) systems and users in the Huntsville Alabama area to include Redstone Arsenal and the Advanced Research Center (ARC). The Systems Engineer will be expected to perform a wide variety of technical tasks to include operating and troubleshooting the OSI system, providing training for users on the OSI system, performing analysis of OSI and radar performance data, providing on-site support for Ground Test event execution, describing OSI system capabilities and limitations to a wide variety of stakeholders, and providing local representation for the OSI team at technical meetings.  The Systems Engineer will communicate user concerns and issues to the OSI product team located at Schriever AFB, CO.  The Systems Engineer will be expected to work with SMC leadership to define tasking and deliverables in the context of the remote user’s needs while considering program priorities. The Systems Engineer will effectively communicate status, upcoming activities, and all customer, user, and stakeholder interactions with the OSI product team.  In this role, the Systems Engineer will be a permanent OSI team resident in Huntsville Alabama, so exceptional ability in the areas of independence, communication, customer interaction, and self-direction will be required. Some travel maybe required to support other OSI sites.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field • Must have a strong background in math and physics• Must display a thorough understanding of radar systems and radar signal injectors• Must have knowledge of Missile Defense Agency Radar Systems• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment• Must possess good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills•  Must be able to support occasional travel • Must be proficient with Linux and/or Unix• Must have experience in direct customer interaction  • Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
