Job Responsibilities
This position requires a Network Security Engineer to perform Computer Network Defense Protection analysis of network vulnerability scan (VS) results; perform in-depth scans; determine impacts to network operations; review corrective/mitigation actions; coordinate corrective actions reports and assist in risk analysis. Conduct an Anti-Malware program, forward alerts and warnings to Subscribers, respond to Subscriber malware reports and assist in implementing protective/anti- malware measures. Conduct the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program to include dissemination, monitoring, and tracking IAVM notifications to Subscribers; reviews IAVM Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) providing technical assistance as required.  The candidate is responsible for reviewing Cyber Protection Condition (CPCON) directives; performing network security threat / impact assessments. The candidate must possess the ability to properly interpret higher headquarters’ guidance to assist in the development of agency policy; develop, review and update CND response procedures, Operating Instructions, internal processes, and other MDA CERT/CNDSP documentation. The candidate may be required to work periods of time outside the normal M – F, 8AM to 4PM, duty day in support of cybersecurity incidents.
3 years progressive cybersecurity experience • 8 years of experience in related IT field, i.e., servers, routers, firewalls.• Must have DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III with Continuing Education (CE)• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD 8570.01-M obtain a CND-Auditor certification (CISA, GSNA, or CEH).• Candidate must have an adjudicated DoD Secret security clearance to start (not an interim); must have or be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance.• Advanced experience with security analysis and solutions in a WAN/LAN environment• Experience with most MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)

?Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline. • Additional experience may substitute for some education.Experience performing security compliance scans across a WAN (ACAS preferred); strong HBSS background to include configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment; strong technical writing aptitude, and ability to train on the use of tools in understandable terms. • Ability to work as part of an integrated network operations and support team.•  Familiarity with CERT/CND security policies and procedures to include experience with vulnerability assessment tools (e.g. ACAS, HBSS, etc.).  • Proven aptitude in oral and written communications. •  Must be willing to work shifts in a 24x7 operational environment, which may include extended hours at no notice, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. • Must be willing to travel; travel is infrequent and often less than two weeks if needed.
