Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will support the modeling & simulation (M&S) of missile defense systems with software development as a Software Engineer. The candidate will develop, test, document, and integrate simulation products for the MIssile Defense Space Warning Tool (MDST) organization using C++ and Java programming languages on a Linux operating system. He/She will be responsible for designing & developing software to model various systems, including Defense Support Programs (DSP), Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Joint Tactical Ground Stations (JTAG), and Tactical Detection & Reporting (TACDAR), to accurately represent capabilities of the spaced-based detection and reporting of ballistic missiles. He/She could also be responsible for interfacing with MDST customers and presenting technical briefings to MDST stakeholders. 
Qualifications
Requirements:
*Associate degree in Software Development or related degree (acceptable alternative education/experience: High school diploma/GED with a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience)
*Must be proficient in C++, Java, or a similar programming language
*Possess a strong understanding of object oriented software development
*Possess a basic understanding of Linux and/or Unix platforms

Desired Competencies/Experience/Certifications:
*Experience in developing software in C++ and Java
*Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic discrete event simulation platform
*Experience in Agile software development methodologies in Scrum and Kanban
*Knowledge and/or experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge, spaced-based sensor systems, modeling & simulations development, UNIX & Linux platforms

Clearance:
*Must be able to obtain, or already possess, a secret security clearance
