Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate, as Systems Administrator, will provide support for the Modeling and Operations Software (MOS) Directorate Sensor Modeling Center (SMC) organization on the Joint National Integration Center Research & Development Contract (JRDC) program. The candidate will work closely with the Senor Modeling Center (SMC) IT lead and hardware architect and be responsible for maintaining smooth operation of the Open Systems Architecture Sensor Models (OSM) and Open Systems Architecture Injector (OSI) hardware infrastructure as well as the IT infrastructure that supports software development in a RedHat Linux and Windows environment. He/She's primary responsibility will be to support the Windows systems for the SMC organization. He/Se will support performance analysis and kernel tuning as required, as well as performing essential deployment engineering tasks to include site surveys, installation, configuration management, documentation, commission, and upgrade/patch management, to include providing Windows WSUS server management and patching support. The administrator will make recommendations to purchase hardware, software, and supporting IT gear for the Windows systems as well as the OSM and OSI platforms. He/She will install, configure, and maintain services such as MySQL, IBM Rational products, and developer support tools to support the OSM and OSI products, as well as running Information Assurance (IA) security scans and aid in evaluating results.
*Associate degree in Information Technologies, or related engineering discipline (acceptable alternative education/experience: High school diploma with a minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience
*In-depth knowledge of the Windows operating system to include performance analysis and providing patch updates to ystems
*Working knowledge of the Linux operating system to include performance analysis and kernel tuning
*Knowledge of system level and integration level testing
*Experience with hardware/hardware configurations to include firmware upgrades
*Understanding of the Release and Deployment management process specified by the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) process at the foundation level
*Knowledge of shell scripting
*Cross-platform experience and the expertise to identify and resolved integration issues

Desired Competencies/Experience/Certifications:
*Knowledge/experience with one or more of the following
-Modeling and Simulation
-Installing and commissioning IT systems at customer sites
-Real time Linux kernels, tuning and performance analysis
-Graphics Processing Units (GPU)
-High-performance computing systems (rack mount, blade servers, etc.)
-Windows certification
-RedHat certification
-Capability of supporting occasional CONUS travel

*Must be able to obtain, or already possess, a secret security clearance
