Children’s Services Council (CSC) of Palm Beach County, a special district created over 35 years ago by Palm Beach County voters, provides leadership, funding, services and research on behalf of the county’s children so they are healthy, safe, ready for school, and ready for life.
COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
This position is part of CSC’s Communications & Partnerships Division. This division serves as the organization’s voice and connector, building strong relationships and partnerships to create lasting impact on behalf of Palm Beach County children and families. This professional position is responsible for community outreach to inform and engage with the public in sharing information about CSC’s, its programs, public awareness campaigns, and targeted child outcomes.
Develops community relationships, monitors and informs CSC about issues and opportunities for collaboration. Attends government, civic and community meetings and events as CSC representative, including some evenings and weekends.
This position coordinates and manages a variety of activities in the community and is responsible for coordination, project management and implementation of initiative priorities focused on meeting strategic goals to advance child outcomes. The position also organizes and coordinates staff and volunteers to participate in events or as a speaker/presenter.
The Communications Specialist must possess strong working knowledge and use of social, digital, and traditional media, along with strong communication and creative writing skills. This position will assist Communications staff with collateral and campaign creation and digital platform management.
Associate’s Degree with a minimum of four (4) to (6) six years of combined related work and community experience in the areas that complement this body of work. Experience in writing for print or digital publications and some knowledge of the human services field. Bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the minimum requirements listed.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
The Communications Specialist will be working on site at our office in Boynton Beach, Florida must frequently travel off-site to participate in meetings throughout the community which include some evenings and weekends.
