Production Planner
  
Job Responsibilities

Creare is seeking an experienced professional to be the operational link between Engineering and Manufacturing. This role is designed to offload high-level logistical and technical coordination from the Engineering team, ensuring that the machine shop and technical teams operate at peak efficiency. The Production Planner & Specialist will be responsible for the fabrication lifecycle, from initial planning and material procurement to final assembly oversight.

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Production Planning & Scheduling
    1. Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of internal projects.
    2. Coordinate with the Fabrication Center Manager (machine shop lead) to prioritize work orders based on project deadlines and machine availability.
    3. Monitor workflow bottlenecks and proactively adjust schedules to maintain throughput.

     

  2. Technical Support
    1. Develop proficiency in Fabrication Center operations to serve as the interim designated lead for daily machine shop activities and workflow as needed.
    2. Serve as a point of contact for the Creare machine shop, offloading Engineers from routine fabrication and assembly inquiries.
    3. Review Bill of Materials (BOMs) for completeness and accuracy before they hit the floor.
    4. Manage technical documentation, ensuring the latest revision of every drawing is in the hands of the machinists.
    5. Coordinate assembly and calibration tasks that require technical oversight.
    6. Identify and schedule appropriate inspections to ensure manufactured parts meet Engineering’s design intent.
    7. Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline tasks.

     

  3. Strategic Material Coordination
    1. Move beyond simple "parts ordering" to strategic procurement.
    2. Liaise with external vendors for specialized processes.
    3. Maintain inventory levels for high-use production consumables.

 

Professional Requirements
  1. Experience: 5+ years in a production, machining, or technical manufacturing environment.
  2. Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  3. Technical Literacy: Ability to read complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical schematics.
  4. Software: Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and project management/scheduling software.
  5. Communication: Ability to communicate effectively between engineering and technical teams.
  6. Problem Solving: Ability to identify bottlenecks and reroute resources effectively.

Starting salary range of $75,000 - $100,000 per year, based on level of education completed, and years of relevant experience.
