Preference for Hiring in Employment

It shall be the policy and practice of the Corporate Employers to recruit Corporate Team Members according or the following priorities:

First: Qualified candidates who are enrolled members of the Pueblo of Pojoaque.
Second: Qualified candidates who are not enrolled members of the Pueblo of Pojoaque, but who are spouses, significant others, or children of enrolled members of the Pueblo of Pojoaque. 
Third: Qualified candidates who are enrolled members of another (Non-Pojoaque) Indian Tribe.

JOB PURPOSE:   To serve and bus banquets for groups up to 50 people

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Sets up banquet:  Sets tables with tablecloths, silverware, glassware, napkins, and flower displays; May be required to assemble plates with food
  • Serves food and beverages using trays; Observes guests to refill beverages or fulfill additional requests
  • Busses tables; Clears dirty dishes from tables; Cleans tables and picks up trash
  • Performs other duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

  • Skill and ability in serving large groups of people with excellent customer service
  • Good verbal communication skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • A minimum of one (1) year waitperson experience required
  • Ability to handle a variety of customer requests and personalities
  • Must be people oriented and courteous
  • Must have basic English communication skills
  • PPABC Liquor Certification or successful completion of the PPABC Liquor Certification course

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Banquet room/Restaurant dining room setting
  • Shift work: incumbents must be able to available to work when called; May be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Balancing trays with hot liquids
  • Must be able to move tables and chairs as needed
  • Some exposure to cleaning chemicals
  • Required to follow safety requirements and precautions
