It shall be the policy and practice of the Corporate Employers to recruit Corporate Team Members according or the following priorities:

First: Qualified candidates who are enrolled members of the Pueblo of Pojoaque.
Second: Qualified candidates who are not enrolled members of the Pueblo of Pojoaque, but who are spouses, significant others, or children of enrolled members of the Pueblo of Pojoaque. 
Third: Qualified candidates who are enrolled members of another (Non-Pojoaque) Indian Tribe.

JOB PURPOSE:    To deal table games according to policies and procedures

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Deals games such as black jack, three-card-poker, roulette, and craps according to the rules of the game; May be designated according to specialty
  • Protects and controls the game being dealt
  • Conducts the games in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, handling player transactions and notifying Pit Supervisor of any irregularities
  • Informs Pit Supervisor or other personnel of any important or relevant facts regarding specific players
  • Keeps Pit Supervisor informed of customer complaints
  • Computes payable odds to pay winning bets; Pays off winning bets and collects losing bets
  • Makes change from cash or chips
  • Operates basic equipment such as automated shufflers, etc.
  • Maintains a professional, friendly and courteous atmosphere providing the customer with a pleasant gaming experience
  • Maintains positive interaction with guests as well as provide information to guests regarding table games rules, Player’s Club benefits, marketing programs and property amenities
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Good knowledge of the rules of the games
  • Ability to compute payable odds to pay winning bets
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to make change
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal communication skills

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  •  Must have gaming school experience or previous work experience as a dealer

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Casino setting 
  • Shift work; Required to work weekends, holidays, special events, and occasional overtime
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Must have specific vision abilities required by this job  (i.e., close vision, distance vision, color  vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Manual and finger dexterity for dealing cards and handling chips
  • Must be able to remain focused on game protection at all times
  •  Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment
