OVERVIEW

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. DUTIES

Ensures a safe work environment.

Performs various manual and/or unskilled tasks as required for construction or maintenance operations.

Required to perform manual labor that is not covered by a skilled craft. Duties will vary according to project needs, but may include: clean-up; stick-picking; remove, repair and/or install road reflectors; heavy labor such as shoveling, compacting and back filling excavations; hauling and stacking pipe skids; and, working with and assisting skilled or semiskilled crafts in the performance of their tasks.

May be called upon to erect or dismantle various types of scaffolding under direct supervision.

Lifts, carries and holds construction materials in support of other crafts, cleans tools, equipment and work areas.

Often required to perform heavy work outside in severe arctic weather

Clerical duties as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Expected to perform manual labor with a good knowledge of small hand tools, i.e., shovel, compactor, sledge hammer, pipe wrench, treader, etc.

Good communication skills and knowledge of oilfield and construction safety practices are required.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees in the organization.

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.


Education
High school diploma or GED. One (1) year related experience is preferred.
Experience

Roustabout experience highly preferred.


Special Requirements/Certifications

TWIC required.

OSHA 10 hour or CITS training card required.

Must be able to pass background check.

Valid driver's license is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. MOBILITY: Must be able to access all areas of a construction site and climb scaffolding and ladders. Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs for 20 feet

HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.

VISUAL ACUITY: Must be able to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner.

LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift 70 lbs from floor to waist, 50 lbs from waist to shoulder height. Must be able to carry 70 lbs for 20 feet.
