Description
Vista International Operations is looking for a candidate who will ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. Manages network folder/file permissions to ensure data integrity. Maintains AD structure and creates domain accounts. • Manage servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software. • Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems. • Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs. • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices. • Ensure network connectivity of all workstations. • Administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades. • Perform network design and capacity planning. • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services. • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery. • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. • Establish service level agreements with end users. • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights. • Perform server and security audits. • Perform system backups and recovery. • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports. • Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs. • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5 years equivalent work experience. • Certifications per DoD certification policy. • Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including MS Windows. • Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office products. • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards. • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience. • Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. • Strong written and oral communication skills. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required. • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. • Highly self motivated and directed. • Keen attention to detail. • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. • Strong customer service orientation. • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. • Self motivations to learn, troubleshoot, and complete projects. • General experience with server class equipment. o Dell Servers o HP Servers o Storage Area Networks o Fiber Channel o ISCSI • Ability to Add/Remove/Replace Hardware or Software. • Required Software Knowledge but not limited to the following. o Windows Server 2008(R2)/2003 o Install, configure, and troubleshoot. o Internet Information Services 7/6 • How to install and configure. • How to add/remove and manage sites. o Microsoft SQL 2008/2005 o Install, configure, and troubleshoot. o System Center Configuration Manager 2007 (SCCM) o Collections • Create and delete. • Add/Remove machines. o Packages • Create, configure, and delete. o Advertisements • Create, configure, and delete. o Software Update Point • How to deploy updates through SCCM. o Reporting • General Knowledge on how to create reports in SCCM. o Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) o Install, configure, and manage updates. o VMware ESXi 5/4 o General understanding of virtual hardware. o How to create, configure, and deploy new virtual machines. o How to convert physical machines to virtual machine o General understanding of vCenter Server 5/4. o Active Directory o Add/Remove/Reconfigure • Computers • Users • Organizational Units • Groups • Group policy o Scripting o Basic understanding of scripting languages. • Powershell • Vbscript
Education
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
Experience
Five (5) years of progressively complex information technology and/or database administration experience; OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience must include significant work with database management systems and associated utility software.
Special Requirements/Certifications
Required to work outside the traditional work schedule. Maybe called out to work off-shift for on-call or emergency situations. Security+ and a computing environment certification are both required prior to hire. An Interim Secret Clearance is required prior to confirmed full time employment..
