Shift: Day – Must be able to work a varying shift between 0600 and 1800
Schedule: Full-time

Audio Visual Fabrication Engineer - Associate is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and trouble shooting of complex VTC systems with Expert knowledge in video/voice standards. This position is also responsible for installation of complex VTC systems, resolving of trouble request, incident logging, triage, and basic over the phone trouble shooting to include ticket routing of the HQ AMC VTC Systems.

 

Required Qualifications:

ASD is seeking an Audio Visual Fabrication Engineer - Associate to provide support to a U.S. Army customer.  The Audio Visual Fabrication Engineer duties include, but are not limited to

  • Work a varying shift between 0600 and 1800 with ability to staff 24/7 if required
  • Installation of complex AV/VTC systems
  • Provide telephonic support to resolve trouble requests and incidents
  • Operation and troubleshootVTC Systems, trouble shoot ISDN and IP connections and understand associated IA issues
  • Log requests and Incidents in provided ticketing system
  • Provide tier I and II support to customer for Unified Collaboration and Mission Applications
  • Interface with customers to resolve level I & II issues 
  • Respond to incoming calls and e-mails and perform Tier 2 trouble isolation, escalation and resolution of VTC equipment problems
  • Provide tier 2 support for all video conferencing infrastructure and endpoints (TMS, MCUs, VCS, and C-series codecs)
  • Work with other GITOC technicians during operation and troubleshooting of operational VTC Systems
  • Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint and routing appropriately
  • Determines  the suspected root cause of issues and problems
  • Selecting and explaining the best solution to solve issues
  • Expediting ticket escalation
  • Following up with customers to ensure resolution.
  • Assist and provide remote technical support for other related VTC telecommunications activities
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots control interface touch panels for audio visual systems.
  • Develops and facilitates VTCs and audio conferences for users, and support team, to ensure proper use and care of all Audio Visual equipment.
  • Creates and Responds to Service tickets for overall performance of Audio Visual equipment and maintains operating reporting.
  • Understand AV AMX Room Management System (RMS)
  • Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced.
  • Assist as required in the installation of A/V software upgrades
  • Evaluates, develops and maintains A/V systems.
  • Troubleshoots network problems and the effected A/V systems.
  • Cross-train staff within the GITOC and Harris supported groups
  • Follows established process and procedure

  • Positive attitude working under pressure

Qualifications:

  • Information Assurance Training Level 2 Required
  • Meet DoD 8570 requirements for IAT-2 ( Security+ certification per DoD 8570 policy required)
  • Requires an active DOD Secret level clearance

This position requires the candidate to already possess an active clearance and to maintain that clearance.

 

 

Preferred Skills & Certifications:
 
  •   A bachelor’s degree in IT or technical discipline.

    Knowledge of A/V Algorithms and video standards

      Proficiency in CA Service Desk

     Understanding of IP Networks

      Extensive knowledge of H.320 and H.323 videoconferencing standards
