IT Trainer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conducts computer training needs assessment by collecting information pertaining to information technology work environment.
  • Designs computer training manuals by identifying and describing information needs; using desktop publishing; submitting initial versions for review; revising and editing final copy.
  • Develop and document high quality presentations, training guides (trifold slicks), and Computer Based Training (CBT) content to describe various technical procedures.
  • Maintains safe and healthy training environment by following organization standards and legal regulations.
  • Conducts training classes by presenting organization-specific  COTs and GOTs software applications and personal computer classes.
  • Ensures operation of the training room equipment and coordinate with helpdesk regarding issues and repairs.   
  • Evaluates training effectiveness by distributing student training quality surveys and addresses the issues raised by students.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing current organization publications and IT environment.
Required Qualifications:

Required Experience

  • 5-7 years training or classroom instruction experience. Requires delivering training information to staff and executive/senior level government management both individually and in groups.
  • Must have expert level skills in MS Power Point, Word, and other programs used to develop CBT and presentation materials.
  • Experience in the information technology training field.
  • Ability to apply course content to daily work scenarios
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to be prepared and deliver numerous technology topics.
  • Willingness to explore and learn new information technology topics.
  • Maintains professional demeanor and ethical practices at all times.
  • Timely completion of required Staff Development Training Packages.
  • Handle student concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Notify Program Coordinator of technical, course material and student issues.
  • Ensure student survey participation. Act on survey results for continuous learning and improvement
