Summary:

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HRIS Coordinator provides administrative and technical support to the organization in all phases of Human Resources and Systems Management, assuring continuity and compliance with organization policies and procedures.  The position manages the HR information systems used for data entry, data tracking and the data information requirements of Chugachmiut’s human resources (HR) management operations in addition to HR Technician work as necessary for active and inactive positions.


Major Responsibilities:
  • Maintain HRIS system integrity and data entry for:
    1. Credentialing and re-credentialing software,
    2. Recruitment software,
    3. HRMS, and
    4. SharePoint.
  • Provide clerical support to the Human Resources Department.
  • Prepare/develop documents for mass mail out projects.
  • Maintain administrative-filing systems to ensure efficient documents retrieval.
  • Recruitment, processing of all applications to include, job advertisements, preliminary background checks, correspondence with applicants, and maintaining communication with hiring manager on status of vacant position.
  • Process of criminal background checks timely.
  • Assists in the process of credentialing for new employees, to include verification of past and present employment.
  • Assist with new hire and benefits packets.
  • Assist employees in completing all new hire, benefits, and workman’s compensation forms.
  • Will assist HR Manager in processing workers' compensation claims and FMLA and follow-ups.
  • Process new hire paperwork and benefits immediately after orientation is complete in the absence of the HR Generalist. 
  • Process personnel action forms (PAFs) timely to payroll.
  • Timely process termination of employees to include: separation information and required documents for COBRA/TCC for eligible employees.
  • Customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment required to complete assignments. 
  • Completes special projects as requested.
  • Conforms to safety policies and general housekeeping practices.
  • Demonstrates sound work ethics, flexible, and shows dedication to the position.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, is respectful, and possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity toward clients and co-workers.

Education Requirements:
  • AA Degree required.
  • 4 years’ experience providing technical administration support.
  • Computer Skills to include word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, & HRIS.

Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position that works 37.5 hours per week and 1,950 hours per year. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with one hour for lunch. Chugachmiut maintains a drug/alcohol an non-smoking work environment.
