Starlink Satellite Dish Technician (Port Graham)

Summary:

The Starlink Satellite Dish Technician installs and troubleshoots Starlink internet service.  They are the point of contact for the customers in the village.  They are required to show up at scheduled times working safely to get customers Starlink service setup and running or to troubleshoot any connectivity issues.


Major Responsibilities:
  1. Visits to customer homes to install, service and reposition satellite dishes as needed to ensure proper communication with satellites and ongoing service for the customer.
  2. Maintenance of satellite dishes to include removal of snow, debris etc.
  3. Communicating with customers in a professional, friendly manner, answering questions about the satellite or services and resolving any issues.
  4. Maintaining accurate records involving services requested and rendered including hours worked.
  5. Performing troubleshooting when customers experience interruptions with their satellite service.
  6. Staying informed of industry standards and participating in training.
  7. Assisting in the training of new satellite installation technicians.
  8. Installation and maintenance of Starlink satellite equipment. This will require climbing ladders, installing network cables and working with power tools.
  9. Installation and maintenance of CAT5 and CAT6 network cables. This will require climbing ladders and working with power tools.
  10. Installation and maintenance of Security cameras and WIFI devices. This will require climbing ladders and working with power tools.
  11. There may be instances where the use of a ladder and power tools are needed to complete a repair or to conduct maintenance. Height typically no greater than 8 feet.
  12. Some heavy lifting may be required up to 50lbs.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carefully follow detailed instructions.
  • An empathetic and motivated attitude when faced with customer connectivity issues.
  • Ability to use technology and power tools, sometimes while standing on a ladder while following the appropriate safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good attention to detail

Hours of Work:

Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with one hour for lunch.  Chugachmiut maintains a drug/alcohol and non-smoking work environment.
