IT Help Desk Technician

Promptly resolve problems for local and remote user community.
Manage the help desk ticket queue to ensure tickets are assigned on a timely basis, and ensure tickets are updated and closed on a timely basis, and ticket requester is apprised of resolution activity.
Install and configure new PC and terminal hardware and software. Encrypt devices as required. Maintain and troubleshoot existing PC and terminal hardware, monitors, printers, scanners, iPads, etc.
Plan, set-up, configure, coordinate, maintain, and support all end-user information systems including computers, printers, software, licensing, phones, and other equipment as designated.
Provide asset and user information for all new/redeployed assets to Accounting.
Work with employees to implement new technologies and upgrades.
Assist users with access to the Electronic Health Record system and manage support tickets with EHR vendor.
Participate in the management and documentation of IT equipment inventory. Assure adequate supply and timely availability of functional PCs for home health, hospice and health center staff.
Participate in Leased asset inventory collection as necessary, ensuring hard drives of leased assets are securely wiped per policy prior to their return to lessor.Ensure assets are returned from users with all company provided accessories.
Obtain vendor quotations for required hardware, software, and supplies. Prepare purchase order requests in a timely fashion to support the delivery of new IT equipment and supplies to the user community.
Provide direct and telephone support to end-users including set-up, training and maintenance of computers and phone systems throughout the organization.
Strong organizational skills with the able to prioritize tasks, while working independently.
Works within and manages the complexities of providing end user support at all VNA clinic locations.
Communicate to management regarding status of projects and asset deployments in a timely manner.
Manages user ID administration of network passwords, and systems access.
Other duties as assigned.
MIS, computer science, or engineering education, Associates or Bachelor degree preferred. CompTIA A+ Certification or similar experience desired.
Superior troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
Minimum 2 years of experience in an information systems environment and experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products and active directory.
Familiarity with Antivirus, Spyware, and MS System Center.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, customer service and problem solving skills required.
Current driver’s license in the State of Illinois and current car insurance (must be kept up-to-date at all times). Must use own car to travel to VNA locations.

3. Ability to deal effectively with high levels of stress.
4. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
5. Ability to lift and move IT equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
6. Manual dexterity sufficient to work on office equipment
